# Kids apps with no ads: what no ads and no data really means

## No ads, no accounts, nothing to track

Extreme Drawing shows no ads, asks for no account or sign-in and collects no data about your child. Drawings stay on the device. The apps make no internet connections of their own and send no notifications, and nothing in your child's view is locked or for sale.

[Play in your browser](<https://play.extremedrawing.com/?lang=en>)[How to check it](<#check>)

- No ads
- No accounts
- No notifications

## What each promise means in practice

"No ads" can mean a lot of things in a kids' app. Here is exactly what we mean.

- **No ads.** No banners, no videos between drawings, no "watch this to get a reward", no ads for other games. Not in the free version and not after the unlock.
- **No accounts.** Nobody signs up or logs in, not you and not your child. There is no username, no profile and no e-mail address to give.
- **No data collected.** The app doesn't collect personal data, and there are no analytics or tracking tools inside it. What your child draws is saved on the device itself and goes nowhere else.
- **No internet needed.** The iPhone, iPad and Android apps don't connect to the internet themselves. The one exception is the purchase, which goes through Apple's or Google's own store.
- **No notifications.** The app doesn't send reminders or "come back and play" messages.
- **No chat, no sharing with strangers.** There is nobody else in the game to talk to.

This website follows the same rule: no tracking cookies and no analytics.

## What your child sees in the free version

### What many free kids' apps show

- Padlocks on half the buttons
- A shop or a price in the middle of play
- "Ask your parents" buttons
- Rewards that only open if someone pays
- Timers and "only today" offers

### What Extreme Drawing shows

- Each tab shows only the tools your child can use
- No locks, no greyed-out slots, no empty spaces
- No prices, no shop, no countdowns
- A tab with nothing free in it \(the Toy box\) is simply not there
- After an unlock, the new tools appear in the same tabs

## The grown-ups' area and the parent gate

Everything meant for adults sits behind one plain button labelled **For grown-ups**. To get past it, you solve an easy sum, like 37 \+ 40. It is easy for you and a real hurdle for a five-year-old.

Behind the gate you'll find:

- the settings: sound, language, tilting the device, where the toolbar sits, and music, which can be switched off separately from the sound effects
- the one optional purchase, and restoring it on another device
- in the apps, saving a picture to the device's photos or files

The app may mention the full toolbox again only to a grown-up who has just passed the gate for something else, at most three times, a week or more apart, and always with "No thanks, don't ask again". Never at start-up and never to your child.

## Don't take our word for it: check

Every app store makes developers declare what data their app collects, and shows it on the app's page before you download. These labels are where to look for any kids' app, not only ours.

1. On the App StoreScroll down the app's page to **App Privacy**. It lists what an app collects and whether it is used to track you.
2. On Google PlayOpen **Data safety** on the app's page. It says what is collected and what is shared with others.
3. On Android, look at the permissionsUnder **About this app**, Google Play lists the permissions an app asks for. Ours doesn't ask to use the internet at all; the only store-related one is for the purchase.
4. In the browserThe web version loads from play.extremedrawing.com and keeps drawings in that browser on that device. There is no sign-in and no account.

When money is involved

If a grown-up buys the full toolbox, the payment is handled by Apple or Google in the apps, or by the payment provider Stripe in the browser. Paying there is between you and them; your child's drawings and play are never part of it. The details are on the privacy page.

Is Extreme Drawing really free with no ads?

Yes. The free version has no ads and no time limit: the drawing tools, the Kitchen, Science and Toolbox tabs and every time skip are free for good. One optional unlock adds the rest of the tools; it has no ads either.

Does the app need an account or an e-mail address?

No. Nobody signs up or logs in. In the browser version, a purchase comes with a restore code in your receipt e-mail instead of an account.

Where are my child's drawings stored?

On the device. In the apps they are kept in the app's own storage; in the browser they stay in that browser on that computer or tablet. We don't receive them.

Can my child buy something by accident?

The purchase lives only in the grown-ups' area, behind the parent gate, and the store asks for its own confirmation too. Your child never sees a buy button or a price.

Does the app send notifications?

No. There are no reminders, streaks or "come back" messages.

## More for parents

### [One honest price](<https://extreemtekenen.nl/en/for-parents/one-honest-price/>)

Free to start, one unlock bought once, never a subscription.
